Seth Rogen’s Ninja Turtles Reboot “Honing In” on the Teenage Element
Seth Rogen's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot will attempt to hone in on the teenage element of the characters.
Pararmount and Nickelodeon announced a CG animated TMNT movie reboot last month and Rogen, who is producing, recently told Collider that the movie will use the "teenage" aspect as a "jumping off point." He said the movie will make sure to hone in on that element but that it won't disregard the mutant ninja turtles part.

"As a lifelong fan of Ninja Turtles, weirdly the 'Teenage' part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was always the part that stuck out to me the most, and as someone who loves teenage movies, and who's made a lot of teenage movies, and who literally got their start in their entire profession by writing a teenage movie, the idea of kind of honing in on that element was really exciting to us," Rogen said. "I mean, not disregarding the rest, but really using that as a kind of jumping off point for the film."
Rogen will produce the film with Evan Goldberg and James Weaver under their Point Grey Pictures umbrella alongside Nickelodeon Animation Studio. This will be the latter's first-ever CG theatrical production. Paramount Pictures will distribute the movie.
This reboot will be directed by Jeff Rowe (Gravity Falls, Connected, Disenchantment) and written by Brendan O'Brian (Neighbors, Sorority Rising, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates).

Call of Duty 2020 in Playable State, Developed by Treyarch and Raven
In a call with investors, Activision revealed that this year’s Call of Duty game from Treyarch and Raven Software is still in development, with Activision devs testing the game internally. The company also says news about the next annual Call of Duty title should be revealed “soon.”
In the Q1 2020 financial briefing, Activision confirmed that a new mainline Call of Duty game is still in development. “The game looks incredible right now and, internally, people are having a ton of fun playing across its campaign mode as well as the online mode the developers are very well known for.”
Activision added, “All I can say in terms of timing [of an announcement] is I suspect you’ll be hearing more about this fairly soon.”
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-call-of-duty-review&captions=true"]
Activision previously confirmed a new Call of Duty would arrive in 2020 but did not yet reveal the developer. Not only is it confirmed that Treyarch and Raven — two studios in a roster of dev teams that work on Call of Duty games — are developing the new Call of Duty shooter. But it will also have a campaign mode alongside multiplayer.
It’s been months of silence on a new Call of Duty. Meanwhile, Call of Duty Warzone has seen tremendous success, reaching 75 million players, and adding more players outside of a Call of Duty launch window than any previous game in the series.
But as for a new Call of Duty title in 2020, all Activision says is to sit tight for an announcement. Coincidentally, there is a PlayStation State of Play scheduled for later this week.

Once Upon a Time … When Mulan Was THIS Close to Opening in Cinemas
It wasn't suppose to happen like this.
Disney was originally slated to open Mulan in theaters on March 27 -- the film was tracking to have the biggest domestic opening of 2020 -- before the studio postponed it to July 24 and then August 21 before they finally decided to forego a theatrical release entirely in favor of a debut on Disney+ on September 4 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Back in March, those invited to cover the film's L.A. press junket were allowed to share their reactions on social media to having seen director Niki Caro's loose reimagining of the 1998 animated classic. At the time, we rounded up those generally positive social media reactions to this new Mulan, which you can find below (this article was originally published March 9).
Little did anyone realize at the time that these lucky members of the press corps would have an experience -- seeing Mulan on the big screen in a theater full of people -- that many around the world will now probably never have.
Let's look back at what the media had to say about Mulan all those ages ago, back in March ...
[poilib element="accentDivider"]
Members of the press were able to attend early screenings of Disney's remake of Mulan, and first impressions are overly positive.
Many claim that while there is a bit changed from 1998's Mulan, it more than makes up for it and may even be the best live-action adaptation of a Disney classic yet. Many claim it doesn't even matter that this one isn't a musical.
Mulan has great action scenes, a more mature tone, and is "surprisingly sexy for a Disney movie."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/02/mulan-official-final-trailer"]
Here's our roundup of the first social reactions to Mulan ahead of its theatrical release on March 27, 2020.
[poilib element="accentDivider"]
Fandango's Erik Davis said Mulan is "exciting, vibrant, emotional, and different from the animated version."
Geekbomb's Maude Garrett loved the film, saying the "costumes & fighting/stunts were incredible."
Insider's Kirsten Acuna thought Mulan was "absolutely fantastic," and that it "doesn't even matter that it's not a musical."
Yahoo's Kevin Polowy has seen Mulan twice already and thinks it is "easily Disney's best live action reboot."
Mashable's Angie J. Han says Mulan is the best Disney live-action remake since Cinderella.
Mashable's Alison Foreman said that even though Mulan "leaves a lot behind," it "offers much more in its absence."
Slashfilm's Peter Sciretta was not a huge fan of the original, so he was "very surprised" at home much he liked the remake.
The Movie Couple's Wendy Lee Szany praised Mulan's cast and said there are "lots of little moments" that will make fans of the original happy.
The Geekly Show's Tessa Smith called Mulan "absolutely magical."

New PS5 DualSense Look Confirms No Back Buttons
Sony has updated its official page for PS5's DualSense, and its new 360-degree look confirms there are no back buttons or triggers on the new controller.
This confirmation closes the door, at least currently, that PS5's new controller would incorporate the back buttons/triggers in a similar fashion to the DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment. Many thought that Sony chose to release that new add-on because it would be featured on what is now known as the DualSense.
Microsoft's official Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2 controller does feature removable triggers that can add extra inputs to the back of controller, which makes it a great accessibility option. While Sony may still be working on an official equivalent to the Elite controller or a new back button attachment, the DualSense features no such additions.
Some fans mentioned the lack of buttons during Geoff Keighley's livestream about the new DualSense, and now Sony's website double confirms this fact for the controller's first iteration.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/12/ps5-reveal-event-in-5-minutes"]
Earlier this week, Sony also detailed how PS4 peripherals and accessories will work with the PS5, including that the DualShock 4 will not work with PS5 games, but will work with compatible PS4 games on Sony's next-gen system.
While we know a bit about the PlayStation 5 and DualSense, we are still waiting on a price and release date beyond Holiday 2020. According to a recent report, however, Sony is planning on its next big PS5 announcement happening at some point during this month.
Sony is hosting a new State of Play this Thursday, August 6, but it already noted that there will be no big PlayStation 5 announcements.

When Is Mulan Free on Disney Plus?
UPDATE: If you're an existing Disney+ subscriber who doesn't want to pay the additional $29.99 to watch Mulan now that's it out -- read our Mulan review to see if we liked it -- then you can just wait three months to watch it without the premium fee.
Screen Rant points out that the Disney+ pre-order page for Mulan reveals the film will become available to all subscribers on December 4. So, basically, for "free" (on top of the base $6.99 streaming subscription).
[poilib element="commerceDeal" parameters="slug=watch-mulan-on-disney"]
Our original report from August 5 follows.
[poilib element="accentDivider"]
Disney announced during an investors call Tuesday that they will forego a domestic theatrical release of their live-action retelling of Mulan in favor of a digital debut on Disney+ on September 4, 2020. Internationally, the film will open in cinemas in regions that don't yet have Disney+.
Mulan will premiere on Disney+ on September 4 for a premium price of $29.99. IGN understands that once Disney+ subscribers pay that premium fee for the film that it will remain in their library for the duration of their subscription to the streaming service.
"We are announcing today that, in most Disney+ markets – including the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and a number of countries in Western Europe – we will be offering Disney+ subscribers the epic adventure Mulan on Disney+ on a Premier Access basis beginning September 4," said Disney CEO Bob Chapek.
"The price point will be $29.99 in the U.S., and will vary slightly in other countries. Simultaneously, we will be releasing the film theatrically in certain markets where we currently have no announced launch plans for Disney+ and where theaters are open."
[ignvideo width=610 height=374 url=https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/02/mulan-official-final-trailer]
“We’re looking at Mulan as a one-off, as opposed to saying there’s some new business windowing model that we’re looking at," Chapek added.
The media giant made the announcement while also announcing some very good news -- Disney+ has passed 60.5 million subscribers -- and some very bad news -- the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on Disney Parks saw Disney take "a $3.5 billion hit to operating income and a loss of $2 billion" -- to shareholders.
The release of Mulan had already been delayed several times this year due to the pandemic causing cinemas to close worldwide. The film was originally slated for a March 27 release before it was postponed to July 24 and then to August 21. It was even tracking to have the biggest domestic opening of 2020. That was then.
There had been chatter for months that Mulan could bypass theaters in favor of a digital debut. A Wall Street analyst suggested in May how Mulan debuting on Disney+ could actually help Disney stock "in a perverse way."
Will you pay $29.99 to watch Mulan from the safety of your home? Let us know in the comments!

Sam Neill Welcomes Back an ‘Old Friend’ on the Set of Jurassic World 3
The man with the hat is back! OK, so it's not Indiana Jones but a different hat-wearing scientist-adventurer from a Steven Spielberg production.
Actor Sam Neill posted a nostalgic photo to social media Tuesday from behind the scenes of Jurassic World: Dominion showing the hat of his character, Dr. Alan Grant.
Neill captioned the photo, "Hello old friend" and tagged his co-stars, the filmmakers and the respective trilogies that this 2021 sequel unites.
Eagle-eyed fans, however, will recognize the hat not as the iconic palm leaf straw hat Grant wore in the original 1993 movie but rather the brown felt fedora Neill's paleontologist protagonist wore in Jurassic Park III. Directed and co-written by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World: Dominion unites the casts of the Jurassic World and Jurassic Park films, including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Neill. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/jurassic-park-the-t-rex-detail-you-never-noticed-and-other-secrets-revealed"] While we're not quite sure how Jurassic World: Dominion brings back Jurassic Park heroes Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm, Sam Neill said the trio appear "all the way through" the film and aren't just cameos. Production on Jurassic World: Dominion recently resumed after shutting down in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Jurassic World: Dominion, which features the most animatronic dinosaurs of any film in the series, shifted its release date to June 11, 2021 due to production delays.
