Call of Duty Releasing New Operator Morte Tomorrow
Call of Duty: Warzone will release Morte - a cowboy-themed operator played by Italian superstar Fabio Rovazzi - tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8 at 10.30am Pacific / 1.30pm Eastern / 6.30pm UK (that's September 9 at 2.30am AEST).
Morte's been teased for some time, but September 8 marks his first availability in the game. At release, he'll be available solely as a 2,400 CP (approximately $19.99) Operator Bundle.

Rovazzi is an Italian author, actor, director and multi-platinum singer who apparently met Infinity Ward developers at a sci-fi convention and explained how much of a fan of Call of Duty he is - leading to the studio creating a character for him.
“Being a character in Call of Duty has always been a secret and impossible dream of mine,” says Rovazzi, “and there are no words to describe the excitement of the opportunity to give my voice and my appearance to an operator. I also love the character tribute to the Italian Western tradition. When I think that millions of players will be able to play with my character, I feel flattered and satisfied beyond imagination”.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-full-warzone-mission-gameplay"]
Morte's look and backstory are inspired by the Italian Western film tradition. Real name Sergio Sullo, Morte apparently grew up wishing to be a law enforcer, but was put in jail and prevented from joining the police. He subsequently joined the Special Forces but, come Warzone's time period, has left and joined the Warcom faction.
It looks like we'll be seeing Warzone for some time now that we know it will be integrated with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War - we just don't know quite what form that will take right now.

Programmer Has Made 1993’s Doom Playable on a Pregnancy Test
Foone Turing, a California-based programmer, has made 1993's Doom playable on a pregnancy test, truly taking the "Will it run Doom?" challenge to another level entirely.
Foone took to Twitter to share his progress in making videos playable on a pregnancy test, including Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up and the dancing stick bug, but the clips of it running videos of Doom and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are what caught the eye of many in the gaming world.
Since then, he has been sharing his journey to make Doom actually playable, and now he has officially accomplished his goal.hey you, you're finally awake. You were trying to get pregnant, right? pic.twitter.com/uCgmymvahS
— foone (@Foone) September 5, 2020
It's important to note that Foone did replace the display and microcontroller, so the only part of the original tester is the shell. However, getting Doom running and playable on a 128x32 pixel monochrome display at 1bpp is still an impressive feat. Foone's work is another in the legend of the "Will it run Doom?" challenge that has seen the classic first-person shooter become playable in Minecraft, on a microwave, a Leapfrog kids toy, and even Chandler's laptop from Season 2, Episode 8 of Friends from 1995. Any Further Major Cyberpunk 2077 Delays Unlikely According to CD Projekt Red
Cyberpunk 2077 has now entered its "final stretch of development," and developer CD Projekt Red appears confident there will be no further major delays.
CD Projekt Red's CFO Piotr Nielubowicz made these comments during a video recapping the first-half of the developer's fiscal year, stating "When we meet again in this format, Cyberpunk 2077 will have already been released."
These videos are released at the end of each quarter, meaning the next video would be scheduled for December. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, this would mean Cyberpunk 2077 is still on track to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 19, 2020.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/25/cyberpunk-2077-hands-on-what-we-think-after-4-hours-in-night-city"]
While a delay of a few weeks could still happen, it appears it won't be long until Cyberpunk 2077 is in the hands of many around the world and, according to CD Projekt Red, it has "entered its final stretch of development, marked by very intensive work."
We recently got our hands-on Cyberpunk 2077, and we said it "feels like the spiritual successor to Warren Spector’s legendary original, Hall-of-Fame-inducted Deus Ex, and I cannot personally pay it a higher compliment than that. It just might somehow live up to the years of hype."

Nintendo’s Site May Have Revealed How Long Mario’s 35th Plans Were Delayed
A now taken-down page on Nintendo's website may have revealed that Nintendo's plans for Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary were delayed by nearly 5 months.
This now-removed page, discovered by those like @Wario64 on Twitter, was for the Super Mario Maker 2 "35th Anniversary Auto-Mario" Ninji Speedrun that was announced alongside Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and much more during last week's Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct.
However, this page stated that the special event was set to take place from April 14-21, almost 5 months before any of these celebrations in honor of Super Mario Bros.' 35th anniversary were revealed.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/03/super-mario-3d-all-stars-official-trailer"]
We may never know if all of what was announced in the most recent direct would have been shown that early, or if this was the beginning of the celebration that would continue on throughout the year.
Rumors of these plans and what is now known as Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which includes Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy, started making their rounds in late March 2020, shortly before this event would have taken place.
Due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nintendo and many other developers around the world had to change many of their plans for this year, but it does make one wonder what else Nintendo could have had planned this year if these celebrations took place even before what would have been E3 2020.

Alongside the previously mentioned games, Nintendo is also planning on celebrating Super Mario Bros.' 35th anniversary with Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 35, and so much more.

Kit Harington Was Also Shocked Jon Snow Didn’t Kill the Night King
The way the dreaded Night King was dispatched in Game of Thrones' final season didn't just come as a surprise to fans, but to star Kit Harington as well. According to co-star Maisie Williams, whose beloved character Arya Stark wound up being the hero who vanquished the evil ice lord, Harington spent seasons thinking the Night King's fate belonged to Jon Snow.
Talking to THR, Williams said "[Harington] expected it to go that way, too, and he even said 'It was going to go that way. Someone told me in season three that I was going to kill The Night King.'
"And then he read the script, and it was Arya the whole time," Williams laughed. "Yeah, I think it would’ve been too obvious. I’m glad that it was Arya, honestly. I think I had the best storyline of the final season."
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-game-of-thrones-review-so-far&captions=true"]
Williams currently stars in Disney's The Mutants, which finally found theatrical release after years of delay and then postponement due to COVID. Our review of The New Mutants said it's an "entertaining, if at times formulaic small-scale genre movie" that didn't deserved to be shelved for so long.
Meanwhile, Game of Thrones executive producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff settled on their next project, teaming with Rian Johnson for a Netflix series inspired by Liu Cixin's award-winning book trilogy The Three-Body Problem (Remembrance of Earth's Past).
