Phil Spencer Hints That a 1 vs. 100-Style Game May Return on Xbox Series X
Xbox head Phil Spencer has recently hinted that a trivia game, that may or may not be a revival of sorts of its 1 vs. 100 Xbox 360 game, could be on its way to Xbox Series X.
As reported by VGC, Spencer made these comments during the official Xbox FanFest live stream this past Friday, which was supposed to also be accompanied by a special quiz that was unfortunately canceled due to technical issues.
“I just want to say, when our teams are trying to do new things that we’ve never done before, I want to be 100 percent behind those things,” Spencer said. “Sometimes they’ll turn out amazing, sometimes they’ll be good learning experiences for us.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2009/05/18/1-vs-100-live-xbox-live-gameplay-trust-the-brain"]
“But for all the fans who have been on this with us, we’re going to make it good with you guys. We don’t know exactly what it is yet, so thanks for hanging with us during this and our little experiment. We’ll learn. Maybe we should even be building our own trivia game, like from our past, that allows people to play a trivia game more often, maybe that could happen…”
While Spencer didn't fully come out and say it, he was most likely referencing 1 vs. 100, which ran for two seasons between 2009-2010 before being cancelled. This game was based on the TV trivia game show of the same name and had one person - The One - facing off against a group of 100 people known as The Mob. The One had to outlast The Mob, but if he got a question wrong, the winnings would be split among the remaining 100.
There was also The Crowd, that was filled with those not actively playing in a given round, that could be used as a lifeline of sorts for The One.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=confirmed-xbox-series-x-games&captions=true"]
Even though the show was cancelled, Spencer had previously spoken about how these type of game shows were deemed a "must" on Xbox One. He also mentioned that getting the rights to 1 vs. 100 may be difficult, so it may return as something specifically Xbox branded.
While they may have not gotten it to Xbox One before the launch of Xbox Series X/S, there appears to be a bit of hope as we all enter the next-generation this holiday season.

The Last of Us Remastered has received a new patch on PS4 that has seemingly reduced load times across the game, including cutting the load times of game's first loading screen by over 70%.
As reported by Kotaku, The Last of Us speedrunner Anthony Calabrese has noted that patch 1.11 has made it so "loading screens are basically non-existent on PS4" for The Last of Us Remastered. This change has even saved him nearly 18 seconds in the David fight and appears to work for both ssd and hdd.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-naughty-dog-game-review&captions=true"]
YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits also uploaded a video that shows the improved load times in action. Pre-patch, the first loading screen in The Last of Us Remastered took 1:30:10. With the new patch, load times for the same section appear to be 0:13:86.
While this could always just be an improvement specifically for the PS4 version of The Last of Us Remastered, its timing is curious as this game is included in the PlayStation Plus Collection for PS5. This PlayStation Plus perk brings such other big games like God of War, Bloodborne, and Final Fantasy XV to Sony's newest next-gen console.
It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to consider that, by optimizing and making these games playable on PS5, these developers have found ways to improve the experience for those still playing on PS4.

Next Evil Dead Film to Take Place in a City High-Rise
After three SamRaimi-directed movies, a two-season sequel series on Starz, and 2013's soft reboot directed by Fede Alvarez, the Evil Dead franchise is moving away from its rustic roots, and its cabin-in-the-woods aesthetic, for a new bloody adventure that takes place in a big city building.
The title Evil Dead Rise was revealed this past summer by Ash Williams himself, Bruce Campbell, as well as the idea that the "upcoming movie will shake up the tried-and-tested franchise formula by deviating away from some key narrative staples, such as the classic 'cabin in the woods' setting."
Director Lee Cronin expanded on this concept recently, during a chat with Bloody Disgusting, saying that the film will feature a female heroine in a city, possibly in a high-rise apartment complex (hence the title).
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/24/is-chucky-the-greatest-movie-slasher-of-all-time"]
"I’m confident I’m going to do something that’s both familiar and refreshing," Cronin said. "I’m gonna deliver a rollercoaster of horror. That’s what the goal is here. Relentless. Not stopping to explain too much. It needs to be extremely visceral, highly entertaining, properly scary. To push boundaries, that’s important as well."
During an interview with AL.com, Campbell said the movie kicks off when "that book gets around, a lot of people run into it and it’s another story."

Scream: Drew Barrymore Video Wonders What If Her Character Had Lived
In a new promo for The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore has reprised her role as Scream's Casey Becker, and asks, "Have you ever wondered what Casey Becker from Scream would be doing if she had lived?"
Barrymore shared this short video on Twitter, and it features Scream's Ghostface texting Barrymore's Becker and saying, "It's that time of year... where I have to kill you!!"
However, unlike in Scream, Becker chooses not to fall for Ghostface's tricks and ignores him and goes about her day with a smile on her face. Ghostface appears clearly upset by this, and tries to call her and even plea with her that he comes in peace. Finally, he can't contain his rage and screams, in text form, "Stop GHOSTING me!!!" Barrymore wore the same white sweater and sported the same blond haircut from the film, but wears a new sense of confidence. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/22/cinefix-a-history-of-slashers"] In the original film, Becker received a phone call from an unknown person and they began flirtatiously discussing horror movies, but then the call takes a turn and the caller begins threatening her. He then reveals that he has her boyfriend Steve Orth as a hostage. Unfortunately, Becker fails to answer who we later find out is Ghostface's questions correctly, and both she and Orth are killed. While Barrymore's Casey Becker may not be returning for Scream 5, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campell are all set to return for the new film that is set to be released in theaters on January 14, 2022. Tessa Thompson Says Michael B. Jordan Is Directing Creed 3
Update (12/29/20) - As reported by DailyMail, Tessa Thompson has said said Michael B. Jordan is indeed directing Creed 3.
"He is directing the next Creed. It's going to be ammo, I think, for me, when he is engaging with me as a director," Thompson said in an interview with MTV News for her new film Sylvie. "I'm just going to tell him to dial down the sexiness. But we're not gonna make it until later in the year. So who knows what happens? Another man will be - I don't know if he will still be the Sexiest Man Alive in six months."
Thompson played the character Bianca in Both Creed and Creed 2.
Original story follows.
[poilib element="accentDivider"]
Michael B. Jordan is reportedly set to direct Creed 3, the third installment of the film series where Jordan stars as Adonis "Donnie" Johnson Creed.
Buried in a report from Deadline about the possibility of No Time To Die, the upcoming James Bond film, skipping theaters for a streaming service, it was mentioned that while MGM still considers Bond to be its "crown jewel," it is also working on a Creed sequel that "Michael B. Jordan is considering to direct."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/11/16/creed-ii-review"]
"While MGM is working on a Creed sequel that Michael B Jordan is considering to direct, and a new creative team is aggressively building a promising slate, Bond remains MGM’s crown jewel." Deadline's article reads.
While no further details were given, this isn't the first we've heard about Jordan potentially being picked to direct Creed 3, as producer Irwin Winkler also wrote in his book that he promised Jordan he'd get "his chance to direct Creed 3."
“I promised Michael B Jordan that he’d get his chance to direct Creed 3”, Winkler writes on page 253. On, page 272, he reiterates this. “Last year in a conversation with our Creed star Michael B. Jordan, I offered him the opportunity to not only star in, but also to direct Creed III”.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=creed-2-gallery&captions=true"]
If Jordan ends up taking the role, it will be his directorial debut.
In our review of Creed 2, we said "Just like Adonis himself, director Ryan Coogler proved with Creed that this new iteration of the Rocky franchise could stand on its own and forge its own legacy. Creed II, however, can’t seem to let the past go, abandoning the exciting new path blazed by Coogler in favor of evoking what’s come before, with undeniably diminished results."
