Demon’s Souls’ State of Play Shows Off 12 Minutes of PS5 Gameplay

PlayStation has shared a brand new State of Play that shows off 12 minutes of PS5 gameplay for Demon's Souls. As revealed on PlayStation.Blog, this new deep dive into PS5 launch title Demon's Souls is presented by creative director Gavin Moore, and it focuses on the offline experience of this remake of the 2009 PS3 classic. It gives an overview of many details we've previously learned, like the expanded Character Creator, but also details many of the improvements PS5 owners will be able to experience on November 12, 2020. This gameplay walkthrough shows players the Nexus - Demon's Souls main hub - and how quick the load times are getting players into a level. Moore also discusses how players can choose to play Demon's Souls in Performance Mode, which runs at 60FPS with Dynamic 4K, or in Cinematic Mode, which runs the game at a more "cinematic 4K" at 30 FPS. The team at Bluepoint Games also added "thousands" of new sound effects for Tempest 3D audio that will immerse owners of headsets like Sony's Pulse 3D Wireless headset like never before. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/29/demons-souls-ps5-gameplay-trailer"] The DualSense will also make combat feel "grittier and darker," and will have players feeling "steel clash against steel" or the "crackle of a fireball" before it's cast against an enemy. It was also discussed how the score of the original was rearranged by a 120-piece orchestra at AIR Studios in London, how all the original code was used to preserve the feel of the original while new animations will add flourish, and much more. We also got a first look at the Dirty Colossus boss, and it gives adventures a look at another one of the horrors they must face if they undertake this challenging journey. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=demons-souls-ps5-character-creator-screenshots&captions=true"] For more on Demon's Souls, check out IGN's PS5 review and read on about how it will feature over 180 guide videos in PS5's UI to help players and how Bluepoint is remaking this classic game. PS5 Lets You Automatically Turn Subtitles On for All Your Games

The PlayStation 5 comes with a variety of accessibility options, including the option to create custom presets so all your games play similarly when you first boot them up. That means, for example, if you prefer playing with subtitles on, you can make it so that subtitles will be turned on by default for each new PS5 game. Sony revealed the preset options during a tour of its UI and settings earlier this week. Now that we can talk more in-depth about the PS5, we know exactly how presets work and what players can change. To configure your PS5 presets, players can go to Settings, then Saved Data and Game/App Settings then to Game PResets. From there you’ll have the option to change Subtitles and Audio that will let you turn subtitles and preferred audio options on by default for any new game. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=confirmed-playstation-5-games&captions=true"] The other options also include “Difficulty” so you can preset a difficulty between Easiest, Easy, Normal, Hard, or Hardest; “Performance or Resolution” which lets you choose to prioritize FPS or resolution where applicable; and ‘Camera Controls’ which lets you preset whether you want normal or inverted camera controls. For IGN’s full rundown of new PS5 features, check out our PS5 wiki. And for our reviews check out our PS5 review, DualSense Review, and Pulse Headset review. We also have a Spider-Man: Miles Morales review on the software side of things. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Matt T.M. Kim is a reporter for IGN.

Spider-Man 3: Tom Holland Posts First Photo From Set

The next Spider-Man movie has started filming and star Tom Holland has shared the first, albeit cheeky, photo from the set of him reprising the role of Spider-Man. In what appears to be the first photos from the set of the third Spider-Man movie, Holland is seen wearing his black and red suit from Spider-Man: Far From Home. Over his Spider-Man mask, however, he's wearing another mask. "Wear a mask, I'm wearing two," Holland writes in the Instagram captions. A third Spider-Man movie was almost in doubt after Sony and Disney failed to reach an initial agreement that would see Tom Holland's web-slinger continue to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But a deal was ultimately reached and a new Spider-Man movie is planned to be released on December 17, 2021. While plots are under wraps, Sony announced that Jamie Foxx will reprise his role as Electro for the third film. Foxx was last seen portraying the character in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which was not part of the MCU and instead part of a film series were Andrew Garfield played Spider-Man. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-delayed-movie-due-to-coronavirus-so-far&captions=true"] Doctor Strange, played by MCU's Benedict Cumberbatch, is also slated to appear in the film as a mentor to Peter. The appearance of Strange and Electro has fueled speculation that the third Spider-Man movie will tackle the spider-verse in some way. No word on when the Spider-Man 3 will wrap filming, but Sony has allegedly said a first look will arrive sometime in December. Though considering filming just started it's unclear how in-depth the first look will be. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Matt T.M. Kim is a reporter for IGN.
