It's reminiscent of how Phil Spencer recently appeared in interviews with the then-unannounced Xbox Series S sitting behind him. There's little chance anyone would have connected those dots, but it still feels like you missed a glaring clue all this time. Then again, it could be a coincidence - in a Bethesda blog, Pete Hines, SVP of Global Marketing said, “Todd is a lifelong Indy fan, and has been trying for over a decade to make this game. "He’s beyond excited to work with the award-winning MachineGames team, a perfect fit for Indy.” So maybe he just enjoys his Indiana Jones merch? The Indiana Jones game will be a standalone adventure set at the height of the character's career, and is being developed by MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order). AMD has announces its latest batch of Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors for laptops and gaming laptops. Bringing the Zen 3 core to mobile, AMD announced a trio of Ryzen 5000 Processors including the Ryzen 7 5800U, Ryzen 9 5900HX, and Ryzen 9 5980HX. Starting off with AMD's flagship Ryzen 7 5800U, it's an 8 core and 16 thread processor with a 4.4GHz maximum boost clock. According to AMD, the Ryzen 7 5800U far outpaces Intel's latest 11th Gen Core i7-1185G7 by 44% in Adobe Premier video encoding and 39% in Blender 3D Ray Tracing. What's more AMD has announced a new line of even higher-end HX-Series mobile CPUs unlocked for overclocking to bring desktop-like performance to mobile. The first HX-Series processors we'll see include the Ryzen 9 5900HX, and Ryzen 9 5980HX. The Ryzen 9 5900HX is an 8 core, 16 thread processor with a 4.6Ghz boost clock and 20MB of cache. The Ryzen 9 5980HX meanwhile features 8 cores and 16 threads, a 4.8GHz Boost Clock and 20MB of cache. MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus) and Bethesda are partnering with Lucasfilm Games on a standalone Indiana Jones game, to be executive produced by Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard. Bethesda tweeted to say "A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, @MachineGames, and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with @LucasfilmGames. It'll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!" An original post from Bethesda on Twitter includes a video that shows the word MachineGames, a Lucasfilm Games logo, and the iconic hat and whip. A StarWars.com post explains that the teaser "may hold some clues", but does explain that the game will be set "at the height of the career of the famed adventurer." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/01/12/indiana-jones-bethesda-game-official-teaser"] Aside from the company logos, the game will seemingly revolve in part around Vatican City, with a plane ticket to Rome dated for October 1937, and, as IGN's Jordan Oloman points out, a map including the Sistine Chapel spead out on the desk. No release date, genre, or platforms have been given at time of writing, but one thing is clear – MachineGames will have plenty of ideas for how Indie can dispatch Nazis. With Bethesda soon to be owned by Microsoft, it's not clear if this will be an Xbox exclusive (timed or full), but it seems very likely that the game would launch into Game Pass, with Microsoft looking for Bethesda games to be "first, better, or best" on Xbox platforms. Lucasfilm Games was announced as a returning brand yesterday, which will seemingly cover games made by multiple developers "in the Star Wars galaxy and beyond" - this is clearly the "beyond" part. "Lucasfilm Games is now the official identity for all gaming titles from Lucasfilm," read a statement, "a name that encompasses the company’s rich catalog of video games and its eye toward the future." Lucasfilm Games (later LucasArts) released multiple Indiana Jones games in its time as a developer, including adventure game classic Indiana Jones & the Fate of Atlantis - which we've called the greatest ever Indiana Jones game. We'll also be getting a new Indiana Jones movie in 2022, which will conclude the character's story – it's due to be directed by Logan's James Mangold.
