My Friend Pedro TV Series from John Wick Creator Confirmed

My Friend Pedro will be adapted into an R-rated TV series by the creator of John Wick. The show will be a half-hour dramedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Derek Kolstad, the writer of the first two John Wick movies and a co-writer of the third, will write the series and serve as an executive producer. The uncredited co-director of the first John Wick and director of Deadpool 2 and Hobbs & Shaw, David Leitch, will also executive produce the project. The game tells the story of a person who wakes up in a butcher shop where a banana named Pedro tells them about the secret and nasty operations of the butcher shop. The banana then teaches the player to commit murder. The creator of My Friend Pedro, Victor Ågren, said the game was inspired by the works of Kolstad and Leitch and it's a "dream come true" to see them adapt his game. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/06/17/7-things-that-inspired-my-friend-pedro"] "It's hard to find the words to describe the journey this game has taken," Ågren said in a statement. "'A dream come true' would be one way to put it - but in truth I could have never in a million years even began to imagine things to work out the way they have. The work of both Derek Kolstad and David Leitch (all the way back to his stunt days on films like The Matrix) has been a huge influence on shaping My Friend Pedro. To later find them attached to a TV-adaptation of the game boggles my mind. There must be something bigger at play here. As a solo developer tucked away in a small corner of the world, it really makes me think that as long as you create from the right place the result can reach even as far as the giants of Hollywood. Anything is possible and I truly can't wait to see what's next!" The company behind the My Friend Pedro series is the same behind the recently announced Disco Elysium TV series adaptation. Devolver Digital Co-Founder Mike Wilson is happy to see indie games getting the Hollywood treatment. “Major players in Hollywood have finally taken notice to the amazingly rich original worlds created by independent developers from around the world, especially games like the ones Devolver works on that don’t have to round off the edges for a mainstream audience,” Wilson said in a statement. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=6-video-games-that-should-be-netflix-shows&captions=true"] Kolstad said back in May that he was pitching a My Friend Pedro series as well as an adaptation of the 2017 indie game Bendy and the Ink Machine. My Friend Pedro was first released on PC and Switch in June 2019 and was later ported to Xbox One and PS4. In IGN's review of the game, we said, "Like the John Woo movies that it successfully emulates, My Friend Pedro is all about the action – and that action is excellent." Fallout TV Show In the Works at Amazon From Westworld Creators

Amazon Studios has just announced a Fallout TV series from Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy serving as producers.

Variety reports that Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are developing the Fallout show at Amazon based on the popular Bethesda video game RPG franchise.

Bethesda Game Studios will be involved with the development of the show and series director Todd Howard will serve as executive producer on the show.

"Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we're incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios," said Joy and Nolan in a statement.

[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-fallout-review&captions=true"] "Over the last decade, we looked at many ways to bring Fallout to the screen," said Todd Howard in a statement. "But it was clear from the moment I first spoke with Jonah and Lisa a few years ago, that they and the team at Kilter were the ones to do it right."

Fallout is a video game RPG series set in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of a nuclear war. Bethesda purchased the Fallout IP from Interplay in 2007 and turned the isometric RPG series into a first-person RPG with Fallout 3. Bethesda has since gone to create Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.

Plot details or casting haven't been revealed, so it's unclear if Nolan and Joy are creating an adaptation of one of Bethesda's Fallout games, or a new series set within Bethesda's universe.

Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito Will Star in a Mystery Game Project

Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito will appear in an upcoming video game but he isn't able talk about it just yet - although he thinks it will be "huge". Esposito spoke with Collider recently about how playing Gus Fring on Breaking Bad changed his life and broached a number of topics in the interview. He eventually touched on motion capture and that style of acting for a big upcoming video game. "This video game I did, which is going to be huge — can't mention it," Esposito said. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=next-gen-buzzwords-explained&captions=true"] After being asked about how Epic Games' Unreal Engine is being used to film The Mandalorian, Esposito wouldn't say if that technology is what's being used in this video game, although he did say his part with this game included a "new style of acting." Esposito provided the voice and motion capture for The Dentist in PayDay 2 so it'd be odd for him to be referring to motion capture when he said "new style of acting." It could be actually be a new style of acting, separate from motion capture as well. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/12/18/the-biggest-ps4-and-ps5-games-of-2020"] The big video game Esposito is featured in is seemingly unannounced at this time, but there are still plenty of opportunities for this game to be revealed this year, assuming the reveal is set to happen in 2020. Esposito would make a great Far Cry villain considering his background in villainous characters and Ubisoft does have its Ubisoft Forward digital event coming on July 12 where a Far Cry game could possibly be announced. Perhaps his character from The Mandalorian will be making an appearance in EA's upcoming Star Wars: Squadron. Microsoft also has its first-party studio-focused event coming this month and it's possible Esposito could be playing a character in one of those games. There's also the possibility that this game featuring Esposito is not going to be revealed anytime soon. Only time will tell - but we'll let you know as soon as we know more. Marvel Comics to Launch Alien Series in March 2021

Update: Marvel has revealed its first new Alien project since acquiring the rights to the Alien and Predator franchises. Simply titled Alien, the new ongoing series will focus on a Weyland Yutani mercenary named Gabriel Cruz as he battles a new, even deadlier form of Xenomorph. Alien will be written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson (Marvel Zombies Resurrection) and drawn by Salvador Larroca (Star Wars), with colors by Guru-eFX. Check out the cover to the first issue below: [caption id="attachment_2448567" align="aligncenter" width="1325"]Art by InHyuk Lee. (Image Credit: Marvel) Art by InHyuk Lee. (Image Credit: Marvel)[/caption] “Just as a reader and fan, I was as excited as anyone when I heard the franchise was coming to Marvel, and when they asked me to WRITE THE LAUNCH, I was floored. I've been training my whole life for this gig without knowing it,” Johnson said in Marvel's press release. “Ever since seeing Ridley Scott’s ALIEN at way too young an age, I’ve been OBSESSED with the xenomorph, the single most iconic representation of terror on film.” “Drawing this has been like a dream come true, and I am so grateful to be a part of this series!” said Larroca. “Ever since I was young, ALIEN has been of my favorite sci-fi horror references, and I never could have expected to have the chance to draw this. ALIEN is a creative reference to a whole generation of artists, and I’m so proud to now be illustrating this series. I hope readers enjoy it as much as I do drawing it! Phillip’s story is going to be a delight for fans of this awesome franchise!” Look for Alien #1 to hit stores in March 2021. Marvel is teasing future announcements regarding their first Predator comic and other upcoming projects surrounding the two franchises, so check back with IGN for more as it develops. The original story is below: [poilib element="accentDivider"] The Alien and Predator franchises have been a mainstay in the comic book industry for decades, and now they've both found a new home. IGN can exclusively reveal that Marvel Comics has acquired the rights to both Alien and Predator, paving the way for a new line of comics set in this cinematic sci-fi universe. While Marvel isn't ready to reveal specific titles or creative teams yet, we can debut a pair of incredible teaser images drawn by Batman artist David Finch. First up, here's Finch's take on Alien's "Big Chap" Xenomorph: [caption id="attachment_2374999" align="aligncenter" width="1000"]Alien art by David Finch. (Image Credit: Marvel) Alien art by David Finch. (Image Credit: Marvel)[/caption] Then, feast your eyes on Finch's Predator, as the artist shows what might happen if one of these elite hunters targeted the Avengers. [caption id="attachment_2374998" align="aligncenter" width="1000"]Predator art by David Finch. (Image Credit: Marvel) Predator art by David Finch. (Image Credit: Marvel)[/caption] To be clear, the Predator teaser isn't meant to suggest the two franchises will be integrated into the Marvel Universe (as was the case when Marvel reacquired the Conan license in 2018). Marvel's new comics will instead expand on the characters and settings of the various Alien and Predator movies. Still, it's always possible fans will see some sort of Alien vs. Predator vs. Avengers crossover down the road. Unsurprisingly, Finch had a blast rendering these two teaser images, telling IGN, "Alien and Predator are the two of the most identifiable, iconic characters of all time, and I love them for that. But mostly, it’s being fortunate enough to be a kid when they were new. I’ve seen every movie they’ve ever been in, and I cannot wait to see them wreaking havoc in the Marvel Universe. I drew my pictures of them with a massive smile on my face.” Dark Horse Comics has been publishing Alien and Predator stories since 1988 and 1989, respectively, but it appears 2020 will mark the end of that arrangement. The move isn't necessarily surprising given that both properties, like Marvel itself, now fall under the Disney umbrella. The Star Wars comic book line underwent a similar transition when it shifted from Dark Horse to Marvel in 2015 and Marvel kicked off a new line of comics as part of Disney's revamped Star Wars timeline. Similarly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer shifted from Dark Horse to BOOM! Studios in 2018, paving the way for a rebooted Buffy universe. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=star-wars-how-marvel-continues-the-story-of-the-empire-strikes-back&captions=true"] “There’s nothing more thrilling than a story that will keep you at the edge of your seat, and Alien and Predator have delivered that time and time again!" said Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski in a statement to IGN. "I can clearly remember where I was when I saw each of these modern masterpieces for the first time, and reveling in how both masterfully weave extraterrestrial dread and drama into some of the most iconic scenes we’ve ever seen on film. And it’s that legacy that we’re going to live up to!” “As a visual medium, comics are the perfect place to build on those moments, and we here at Marvel are honored to begin telling these stories for fans everywhere,” added Cebulski. “As our release schedule continues to return, we can’t wait to share more in the coming months!” Editor Jake Thomas said, “The incredible legacies of both franchises offer some of the most compelling and exciting worldbuilding in all of science fiction. It is a thrill and an honor to be able to add to that mythology and continuity with all-new stories set within those universes.” Stay tuned to IGN for more on the future of Alien and Predator at Marvel. With Comic-Con@Home taking place July 22-26, we may learn more in just a few weeks. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2017/05/13/alien-covenant-why-the-xenomorphs-were-created-spoilers"] In other Alien news, director Ridley Scott recently revealed he has plans for a third prequel movie exploring the origin of the Xenomorph eggs seen in the original film.
