Joker: Joaquin Phoenix on the DC Movie’s Makeup Design

You can watch Joaquin Phoenix’s comments on his Joker makeup in the video above or read what he had to tell us below.

Joaquin Phoenix wasn’t as involved in the development of his Joker’s clown makeup visage as you might think, but the actor did reveal his one big contribution to the character’s appearance during our recent interview in L.A.

Phoenix said director Todd Phillips sent him pictures where they had photoshopped the Joker makeup onto photos of Phoenix’s face from past films. This Joker’s clown face differs from past looks thanks to dashes of blue. The actor told Phillips the Joker look they had come up with was “amazing.”

“I thought

was brilliant to really base that look in reality, to base it off of a clown and this work that he does,” Phoenix said, calling it a “really interesting way” to approach the character’s look.

The Bradwell Conspiracy Hands-On Preview

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I sat down to play The Bradwell Conspiracy, given its publisher Bossa Studios is best known for goofy physics games like Surgeon Simulator and I Am Bread. But don’t let that history fool you - its next project is a clever and charming first-person puzzler that immediately had me comparing it to, yes, Portal.

Watch the video above for a look at new gameplay from The Bradwell Conspiracy.

The Bradwell Conspiracy (out later this year on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and even Apple Arcade) drops you into the middle of a disaster of unknown origin at a not-at-all-suspicious museum/research facility built right next to Stonehenge. You get a pair of AI-powered smart glasses, a new friend helping you from the other end of an intercom, and a device that lets you absorb matter and reuse it to make other objects. From there the goal is to find a way out, though doing so is easier said than done.

A Standalone The Last of Us Part 2 Multiplayer Game Is Actually A Great Idea

The Last of Us’ Factions multiplayer mode is one of the more underrated multiplayer experiences of the last decade. Though it did, and still does, have a dedicated player base, it never reached the heights of popularity games more dedicated to competitive play have. And with the announcement that The Last of Us Part 2 won’t see the mode returned, it seemed like the underappreciated mode was doomed to history. Thanks to Naughty Dog’s confirmation that multiplayer isn’t coming to The Last of Us Part 2, but the work on the game’s multiplayer mode will see the light of day in another way, there’s a chance for it to get its proper due. Most importantly, being separated from a The Last of Us campaign may be the best thing to happen to Factions.

The Suicide Squad: James Gunn Reveals Old School Inspirations for New Film

With production on James Gunn's The Suicide Squad now underway -- and the movie itself due out August 6, 2021 -- the Guardians of the Galaxy director received the perfect gift from his agent to commemorate his new stab at the Squad: The first-ever appearance of the original Suicide Squad in Brave and the Bold issue 25, from 1959. A debut that pre-dates the Justice League's formation by three issues.
