Total War: Three Kingdoms Gets a Release Date

Total War: Three Kingdoms, the upcoming real-time, turn-based strategy game set in third century China, is coming out March 7, 2019, and is receiving a Collector’s Edition and bonus preorder DLC.

Developer Creative Assembly revealed today that those who purchase Three Kingdoms before release, or within the first week it’s on sale, will receive the Yellow Turban Rebellion Warlord DLC pack. This pack introduces three new playable warlords to the game’s Grand Campaign, letting players command armies of "bandits, zealots and commoners in a crusade to topple the corrupt Han Dynasty and forge a new future for the people of China.”

The pack introduces three new hero classes: scholars, healers and veterans. The pack also includes new weapons and armor, as well as new character virtues and skills based around frugality, compassion and humility: the three pillars of Taoism.

Fallout 76 Beta Dates Revealed

Bethesda announced Thursday the release dates of Fallout 76's beta ahead of the full game launch on Nov. 14.

The beta will first arrive on Xbox One on Tuesday, Oct. 23, and one week after for PlayStation 4 and PC on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Bethesda wants players to literally "break the game" and will not have servers running 24/7 for the beta due to that. Instead, the servers will be up during specific timeframes so they can get as many players online as possible, all at the same time to fully test their systems.

The game is set to be up anywhere between four and eight hours. After that, immediate fixes and updates will be made and that will continue daily up until a few days before the actual game launch.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Inherits All the Best Parts of The Witcher 3

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales began life as little more than the single-player mode for Gwent, CD Projekt Red’s standalone PvP spin-off of the card game from The Witcher 3. But it's grown far past those roots, and you wouldn’t know it’s a spin-off of a spin-off while playing it. I went hands-on the first two and a half hours this week, and it feels like nothing short of a full-fledged Witcher RPG.

Watch the video at the top of the page to see Thronebreaker in action!

The major difference is that instead of having action-RPG combat where you fight monsters in real-time, you’re playing a card game. I’m sure a lot of people have stopped reading right there, but Thronebreaker’s captivating story and fantastic writing and voice-overs make it a game every Witcher fan should be excited for. Simply put, this is way more than just a card game.

Fortnite Season 6 Patch Notes Reveal ‘Darkness Rises’ Theme, Invisibility, and Pets

Season 5 has come to an end and Epic has revealed what's new with the Fortnite Season 6 patch notes.

"Darkness Rises" is the theme for Season 6 and follows the events of the purple cube and its subsequent dissolving into Loot Lake. The theme brings a number of map changes including a floating island where Loot Lake was originally located, a haunted castle, and new corrupted areas where the runes were placed.

Shadow Stones grant players a special shadow form for 45 seconds when consumed.  Your ability to use weapons is removed but you can go invisible when standing still. Phase is a new ability that propels you forward and lets you pass through objects. You also receive increased movement speed and you're free of any fall damage. These new items are typically found near corrupted zones.

Sansa Stark Actress Thinks GoT Series Finale Will Divide Fans

Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the HBO show, thinks the series finale will split fans down the middle.

During a phone interview today to promote the first trailer for Dark Phoenix, wherein she reprises her role as X-Men member Jean Grey, Turner revealed her reaction to reading the script for the series finale.

"A lot of tears. I think, you know, as an actor it was really satisfying -- I think for everyone, everyone’s storylines -- to be able to act out the way that it all ends. It was really satisfying for us," Turner said. "Who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think. I think it will be really interesting to see people’s reactions, but for me reading the script it was just like heartbreaking to read at the very final page of the script it just says, ‘End of Game of Thrones’. That was really emotional."

Dark Phoenix: Exclusive First Look at 2 New X-Men Characters

In addition to the first trailer for Dark Phoenix, IGN also has two exclusive photos from the long-awaited next X-Men movie to share with you. I also had the chance to chat separately today with director-writer Simon Kinberg and Jean Grey actress Sophie Turner about the film, which offers a new interpretation of the Dark Phoenix saga previously adapted for X-Men: The Last Stand. One of our exclusive photos is the first look at new mutant characters played by Andrew Stehlin and Kota Eberhardt.

Dark Phoenix marks the first time the X-Men movies have embraced the cosmic elements that were a part of the original Marvel Comics, particularly the Dark Phoenix saga. The filmmaker did confirm that the movie's antagonist, played by Jessica Chastain, is an alien. He also confirmed that her character is not named "Smith" as had been reported, while opting to "plead the fifth" when pressed on earlier reports that the avian alien civilization known as the Shi'ar Empire was in the movie. (Chastain's role was originally reported to be Lilandra, empress of the Shi'ar Empire.)

Hearthstone: Team 5 on Designing The Boomsday Project’s Legendaries

Hearthstone’s newest expansion – The Boomsday Project – is absolutely brimming with memorable legendary cards. From the introduction of legendary spells like Luna's Pocket Galaxy, Floop's Glorious Gloop and Myra’s Unstable Element, through to wild designs like Mecha’thun, Dr. Boom, Mad Genius and Whizbang the Wonderful, this set has been a lot of fun to experiment with.

To find out about the design process behind the cards, I caught up with Team 5's Lead Initial Designer Peter Whalen and Lead Final Designer Dean Ayala for a chat. (The first part was published a couple of weeks ago.) They even gave IGN some exclusive work-in-progress (WIP) card art to illustrate earlier designs that didn’t make the cut. Enjoy!
