Marvel Powers United VR Release Date Revealed

Oculus has announced that Marvel Powers United VR will launch July 26.

Not only that, but Black Panther has been unveiled as a new playable character for the game. Marvel Powers United VR will cost $40 and is now available for preorder on the Oculus Store.

The game was originally announced at last year's D23 and features cooperative battles with up to three other people. T'Challa is the eighth playable character to be revealed, and Oculus has promised the game will contain "more than a dozen playable characters."

Crackdown Creator Downplays His Departure From Crackdown 3

When Microsoft announced Crackdown 3 all the way back at E3 2014, it touted the fact that series creator Dave Jones was returning to head up the project after being absent from Crackdown 2's development. However, it was revealed last week that Jones is no longer working on Crackdown 3, but he apparently doesn't think his departure is that big of a deal.

Jones' involvement was said to be crucial to Crackdown 3 development because his Reagent Games' Cloudgine cloud technology was powering the impressive environmental destruction that's been positioned as one of the game's main selling points. But Jones recently chatted with GamesIndustry.biz about leaving the project, saying it amounts to "not a lot basically."

Overwatch Hero 28 Now Live on the PTR

Update No. 2: Wrecking Ball will be live for all players in Overwatch on July 24.

Blizzard confirmed the new Tank character will be coming to all modes on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Update: Overwatch's 28th hero, the tank character Wrecking Ball, is now live on the PTR.

Here are Wrecking Ball's abilities, according to Blizzard:

  • Quad Cannons: Wrecking Ball fires machine guns
  • Adaptive Shield: Grants Wrecking Ball a number of temporary shields based on the number of enemies nearby

Nintendo Announces New Post-Game Outfit for Super Mario Odyssey

It's a-me, Rango!

Nintendo announced on Twitter last night that players who have finished the main story in Super Mario Odyssey will be treated to a new, free special outfit. Heading to the shop then will give Mario access to a new Rango suit and hat.

LEGO Voltron Set Release Date Announced

The LEGO Ideas Voltron set will be available on August 1 for $180 USD at LEGO Shop.

The 2,321-piece set, which the company touts as the “biggest buildable LEGO mech ever,” includes the black, blue, yellow, red, and green lions that combine to form Voltron, as well as an attachable sword and shield. When assembled, Voltron stands at 15 inches tall, with an 11-inch sword.

“Limited quantities” of the Voltron set will be available in late July at San Diego Comic-Con, according to LEGO, while LEGO VIP Early Access members can order the set on July 23.

Cyberpunk 2077: 9 New Details We’ve Learned Since E3

We found out a lot about Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2018, from its controversial first-person viewpoint to what its "Cool" stat is for. But in a game this ambitious, there's always going to be more to find out - and I'm hungry for details.
