New Evil Within 2 Crafting Details Revealed

A Bethesda blog post has revealed new crafting details in the Evil Within 2.

“The world of The Evil Within 2 is full of possibilities,” said Game Director John Johanas in the update. “With some of the larger stages we’ve created, we’re opening Union up to the players’ wishes and unique playstyles. Through the layout of the world, as well as the crafting and customization systems in the game, we’re providing you with the freedom to take on the challenges in front of you however you choose.”

Customizing Sebastian and your gear will now have separate systems. Green gel is still used to upgrade Sebastian, but weapons will now be upgraded with Weapon Parts.

Pacific Rim Sequel Gets a New Release Date

You'll have to wait just a little longer to see Pacific Rim: Uprising, as the release date has been moved back to March 23, 2018.

This news comes via The Hollywood Reporter. The previous date was February 23, so the delay is only a month.

John Boyega, well known for his role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be starring in the Pacific Rim sequel. He'll play Jack Pentecost, son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost from the first movie.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm – Chloe Still Isn’t Nice

I had a hard time accepting Chloe Price as the protagonist and main focus of Deck Nine’s Life is Strange: Before the Storm during the short demo I recently played. While the first of three episodes is releasing August 31, my hands-on preview only lasted a quick ten minutes. Afterward, I was shown a video showcasing more of what we can come to expect from Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Chloe still acts in a way that breeds contempt, but she still seems like a complex character I can’t help but appreciate the existence of.

The nineteen-year-old Chloe waved high easily recognizable red flags as protagonist Max reconnected with her in the previous game, Dontnod’s Life is Strange, all the while blaming her own bad behavior, self-defeating attitude, and failures, on previous hardships and anyone but herself. Chloe’s selfishness and lack of personal responsibility drove me crazy.

Batman, Assassin’s Creed Port Studio Working on Switch Game

Virtuos - the studio responsible for working on Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection, Batman: Return to Arkham and the recent Final Fantasy remasters - is currently "porting a AAA title to Nintendo Switch".

Spotted by YouTuber Doctre81 (via NeoGAF), a LinkedIn profile for a Virtuos programmer lists a work-in-progress project for Switch.

No indication is given as to what title that might be, and much of Virtuos' past work makes for a good fit. Batman: Arkham City was ported to Wii U previously, Ubisoft is one of Nintendo's closest third-party partners, and Square Enix already has more than one project in production for Switch.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for X-Men Gold #9!

This issue sees the X-Men struggling to move forward from their recent battle with the new X-Cutioner. And for some, that means dealing with some lingering sexual tension. It seems that longtime friends and teammates Nightcrawler and Prestige are headed into a relationship, despite the latter's misgivings about dating a teammate. Not that you can blame her, given all the trouble her father got into with the X-Women in his life.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Justice League #26!

This issue kicked off a new storyline called "Legacy," one that builds on a number of loose ends from writer Bryan Hitch's previous Justice League and Justice League of America work. Much of this issue takes place in a dystopian future ruled by an Olympian monarch called "The Sovereign." Standing in her way are a new generation of Justice Leaguers, all of whom appear to be descended from the present-day League. The issue ends with the future League travelling back in time to meet their parents.
