The Last of Us Mod Makes Tess the Playable Protagonist

While The Last of Us stars Joel as the game's main playable protagonist, someone has modded the game to swap Joel with Tess.

Check out the video below from YouTube user Freako to see what Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic action adventure game could have been if Tess was the main playable character who escorted Ellie across the United States.

Naughty Dog is currently at work on a sequel to its critically acclaimed survival adventure game. Titled The Last of Us, Part II, the game will take place several years after the first title and center around Ellie, who is now 19 years old.

Monster Hunter XX for Switch Will Support 3DS Cross-Play

Following its reveal a few days prior, Capcom has shared several new details about the upcoming Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter XX.

At Monster Hunter Championship 2017, Capcom announced the Switch version will release on August 25 in Japan, Gematsu reports. Additionally, the Switch version will support internet cross-play with the 3DS version, as well as 1080p resolution support, and four-player local and online play.

Players will also be able to transfer their save data back and forth between the 3DS and Switch versions of Monster Hunter XX. Those who wish to transfer their Monster Hunter Generations data can do so to the Switch version of Monster Hunter XX, but not the other way around.

Get Out isn’t just a movie, it’s a uniquely celebrated, distinctive experience. It’s one of those rare movies that becomes a cultural talking point, an exciting and insightful commentary about our times. It’s also a fantastically entertaining horror movie, so it became that movie you absolutely HAD to see.

If you missed Get Out in theaters, you can finally now watch it on DVD and Blu-ray, but even if you did see the movie in its initial run the home video release is worth watching. First, you get to own a brilliant film, but second, the disc is loaded with excellent special features, deleted scenes and insightful commentary by the film’s writer/director, Jordan Peele.

DQX PS4, Switch Release Dates Announced for Japan

Dragon Quest X will release in Japan for PlayStation 4 on August 17 and Nintendo Switch on September 21.

Square Enix shared the news during a recent livestream event, during which the publisher showcased the first footage of its popular MMO running on Switch. Skip to the 29:17 mark in the video below to see the game running on Switch, which is immediately followed by PS4 footage just over 31 minutes in.

As reported by Gematsu, the PS4 and Switch versions will cost 4,800 yen each. The PS4 version requires a 1,500 yen monthly fee for five characters, while the Switch version will cost between 1,000 and 1,500 yen a month for three to five characters. Both versions will be available as the "All in One Package" edition, which includes Version 1, Version 2 and Version 3.

Gears 3 might be the best all-around Gears of War game. It had a great story with real emotional moments, fantastic multiplayer, and a stellar Horde mode. And as a bonus, the entire Gears franchise minus last year’s 4 is already on Game Pass as well.

Disney World’s Avatar Land Has One of the Best Rides Ever

I’ll be writing more about Pandora - The World of Avatar next week, and the overall experience there, but with the new land at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom opening today, I wanted to focus on the main attraction, Flight of Passage. Because wow, this is some ride.

As a bit of a theme park junkie, it’s rare I can walk off a ride and instantly say, “That’s now one of my all-time favorites.” In fact, the last time I think that happened was when I first rode Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter seven years ago. But I feel secure saying that about Flight of Passage. It’s a new gold standard.

Plus, we chat about the cancellations of 2 Broke Girls and Last Man Standing, ABC moving Agents of SHIELD and Once Upon a Time to Fridays and more - including our reaction to the Star Trek: Discovery trailer and the announcement that Donald Glover is making a Deadpool animated series for FXX.

Let’s Talk About the Ending of Netflix’s Bloodline

Greetings, fellow bingers. Down below you'll find some of my thoughts about the way Bloodline's final season ended, along with a few notes on some specific things I didn't want to spoil in my full Bloodline: Season 3 review. If you haven't finished the third season, you've been warned...

I wasn't crazy about some of the stuff that went down in the final three episodes, but man did I love Meg's exit, which came right at the end of the second min-arc - the trial storyline. I adored the fact that she got away from the family. I mean, she actually changed her name and became a different person because her family was so rancid.
