New Beauty and the Beast Character Posters Released

Ahead of Beauty and the Beast's debut this March, Disney has released a fresh batch of new character posters, spotlighting the core cast of its upcoming live-action film.

See Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, and many more in the gallery below.

In addition to Watson, Stevens, and Evans, the film stars Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as Lefou, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts.

Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters on March 17, and is directed by Bill Condon. While you wait for its release, check out this teaser for a sneak peek at Emma Watson singing as Belle, and then find out what Stevens recently had to say about the physical challenges of playing the Beast.

Smallville’s Vandervoort Joins the New Saw Movie

Saw: Legacy, the eight installment in Lionsgate's horror franchise, will star Laura Vandervoort and Hannah Anderson.

As reported by Variety, Vandervoort and Anderson are the first two cast members to have been announced for the upcoming film. Saw: Legacy was filmed this past November and is currently in post-production.

In addition to appearing in the film Ted, Vandervoort played Indigo in the Supergirl TV series, and previously starred as Kara Zor-El herself in Smallville.

Obsidian Announces Pillars of Eternity 2

A fan-funding campaign for a follow-up to 2015's Pillars of Eternity, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, is now live.

Obsidian Entertainment, the developer behind Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and the original Pillars of Eternity, launched the campaign on Fig. The campaign has an overall goal of $1.1 million USD.

According to Obsidian, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire "improves upon the rich narrative, beautiful environments, and intricate, tactical combat" that helped make the first game a success.

The sequel sees players return to the world of Eora, this time to explore the Deadfire Archipelago. Traveling "by land and sea," players move from island to island, exploring the environments and smoothing out relations between the locals, "trading companies, and bands of fierce pirates."

Comic Book Reviews for January 25, 2017

It was another big week of comics as January draws to a close. DC wrapped up their Justice League vs. Suicide Squad crossover while kicking off new series like Batman '66 Meets Wonder Woman '77 and Odyssey of the Amazons. Marvel delivered the long-awaited Civil War II: The Oath #1 and the final chapter of the Deadpool 2099 storyline. Elsewhere, Image released new issues of Saga and reborn while IDW gave Back to the Future fans a closer look at the rise of Biff Tannen.

Ace Combat 7 Now Coming to Xbox One and PC Too

It had previously only been announced for the PlayStation 4, but Bandai Namco has announced that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be coming to PC and Xbox One as well.

PlayStation 4 players will be able to play sections of the game developed specifically for the PSVR headset. There has been no word yet on whether these VR sections will also eventually make their way to the PC version.

Bandai Namco promises "fierce air combat experiences," and "a multitude of authentic and futuristic aircrafts to fly." It sounds like there will be a mix of modern weaponry and "near-future super weapons" at your disposal during your dogfights.

Sunao Katabuchi, writer of Ace Combat 4 and 5, is making a return to the series as lead writer for Skies Unknown's single player campaign. There will also be multiplayer modes, but details are slim for them so far.

Square Enix Unveils Lord of Vermilion IV

A new entry in Square Enix's arcade-based card game franchise Lord of Vermilion has been announced.

Square Enix has launched the official website for the series' fourth proper installment, aptly dubbed Lord of Vermilion IV.

No specific platforms or release date are specified, with the site only saying that Lord of Vermilion IV is "coming soon." The original game released in Japanese arcades back in 2008 and has since received a couple sequels, as well as a few spinoff action-RPGs for PlayStation Portable and PS Vita.

Tomb Raider, Deus Ex Developers Making an Avengers Game

Square Enix and Marvel have announced a "multi-game partnership", starting with an Avengers game made by Tomb Raider developer, Crystal Dynamics and Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal due for release in 2018.

Announced first on Twitter, there are few details so far, other than the cryptic use of the word "Reassemble" in the trailer and hashtags. The current title appears to be "The Avengers project", but that is almost certainly a working title.

The trailer's YouTube description sheds slightly more light on the game, and the partnership between Square and Marvel:

Hasbro Reveals New Spider-Man: Homecoming Toys

Hasbro will be releasing a host of new toys based on Peter Parker's next cinematic adventure, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and IGN has your first look at what's to come.

IGN can exclusively reveal an assortment of action figures, a Vulture attack play set, and more. Get a first look at the toys in the gallery below:

Included in Hasbro's upcoming releases are two lines of 6-inch features. The Vulture, Spider-Man in Homemade Suit, and Spider-Man figures are all part of the standard line, which will run $7.99 each and be available in May. The Feature line of figures, meanwhile, will cost $14.99 and also debut in May — check out the Spider-Man and Vulture figures from the Feature set in the gallery.
