Star Wars: Battlefront Canon Is ‘Complicated’

Earlier this year, when a book sleeve revealed that Star Wars: Battlefront would be considered canon, most of us assumed it would be the DICE-developed video game. Following Star Wars Celebration, it became clear that the novel, Star Wars: Battlefront - Twilight Company, set following A New Hope, would likely be the canonical entry for that particular brand. Jump Street Gets Female-centric Movie

Sony Pictures is developing not one but two Jump Street films: a female-driven spin-off, and a Men in Black crossover for what is essentially 23 Jump Street.

The Wrap reports that Broad City writers Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs will write the female Jump Street. 21 and 22 Jump Street producer Neal Moritz and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will steer the direction of both that spin-off and the MIB crossover.

The crossover will take its shots at shared movie universes -- just as 21 Jump Street played off the concept of reboots for laughs and 22 Jump Street had fun with the idea of sequels -- by having stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum join the MIB to investigate aliens. This concept was originally revealed in leaked e-mails last year, and Lord more recently indicated that he was still pursuing the idea.
