Yuri on Ice Marathon Coming to Theaters in the U.S.
Yuri!!! On Ice is coming to U.S. theaters this October.
Crunchyroll has announced it is partnering with Fathom Events to bring the Yuri!!! on ICE Series Marathon to select United States theaters on October 13. Tickets, along with a complete list of participating theaters, are available on the Fathom Events website.
The marathon, which will last four hours and fifteen minutes, will feature the subbed version of the show's entire 12 episode run and tell the story of Japanese figure skater Yuri Katsuki and Russian figure skater Yuri Plisetsky. Fans who attend the event will also be treated with a video message by the series' producer.

Venom is one of the most iconic characters in the Marvel comics roster, but the upcoming adaptation directed by Ruben Fleisher is looking to offer a new take on the lethal protector that fans haven't seen before.
The new film serves as a Venom origin movie, but it breaks Venom's origin away from the Spider-Man story it's directly tied to in almost every iteration of the character that's come before. This time around, Venom comes to Eddie first, and it's their struggle to develop a symbiotic relationship that is at the center of the film.
New Marvel Comic Chronicles the Rise of Black Panther’s Killmonger
Killmonger, the infamous Black Panther villain portrayed by Michael B. Jordan in the 2018 film adaptation, is receiving his own Marvel Comics series that charts his rise to power.
Reported by Vulture, this five-part mini-series is simply called Killmonger and will follow the story of how a Wakandan called N’ Jadaka (later known as Erik Killmonger) was exiled to the United States, transforming from a promising young mind into a dangerous super villain. Though Killmonger has been around since the ‘70s, this will mark the first time the character helmed his own series.
Octopath Traveler’s Simplistic Level Design Makes It a Better Game
Amid all the praise for Square-Enix’s JRPG throwback, Octopath Traveler, there are still some common criticisms. Most focus on how the stories for each of the eight main characters only finally loosely overlap in an optional end-game dungeon, and are otherwise entirely separate with minimal inter-party interaction. However, others have taken up issue with Octopath Traveler’s level design. It’s easy to see why: compared to even some of the classic old-school JRPGs Octopath seems to evoke, its level design is basic. Dungeons are especially simplistic, and when judged against most modern RPGs, they're downright dull.
However, after several dozen of hours with the game, I’m not convinced this an issue. In fact, I'd argue it's one of the best decisions Octopath Traveler’s designers made when developing the game, and a key factor in its success as an instant JRPG classic.
New Line of Mini Arcade Machines are Exact 12-Inch Replicas
New Wave Toys is creating a line of mini arcade machines that are 12-inch replicas of classic arcade cabinets called RepliCades.
Starting with RepliCade X Centipede and RepliCade X Tempest, these replicas are officially licensed, fully-playable, 1/6 scale versions of the original cabinets. More are to come, including Street Fighter II: Champion Edition. Each cabinet comes with specific features to make it look and feel as similar to its larger design as possible.
RepliCade X Centipede, which is officially launching today, features a tiny trak-ball to control the game just like it was back in the 80’s, comes with super small arcade tokens, a 3.5” vertically oriented color screen and more. It does carry a hefty price tag of $160 US, so arcade fans might want to start saving up their quarters now. It is available to purchase on New Wave Toys’ website, and is coming soon to Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy.

European and US Gambling Regulators Sign Agreement to Tackle Loot Boxes in Games
The U.K. Gambling Commission announced Monday that 16 gambling regulators from Europe and the U.S. have signed an agreement to address gambling risks in games.
The global agreement includes the countries of Latvia, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Malta, Jersey, Gibralter, Portugal, Ireland, Isle of Man, U.K., Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Austria, and U.S.'s Washington State.
The agreement is described as a "Declaration of gambling regulators on their concerns related to the blurring of lines between gambling and gaming."
