Ex-Wonder Woman Director Wanted Braveheart-esque Film

Michelle MacLaren's sudden departure from the upcoming Wonder Woman live-action movie was reportedly due to the director's desire to create a more action-heavy flick akin to Braveheart.

According to Variety, industry insiders have indicated that since Warner Bros. wanted a more character-driven story that is light on action, MacLaren's desire for an epic origin tale was the reason she parted with the studio.

Since MacLaren's experience has been primarily limited to smaller-scale productions, including directing episodes of The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, Warner Bros. apparently felt uneasy with her ability to truly deliver on her large-scale vision for the big screen.

Clone Wars Would Have Wrapped Up Post Ep III

Beyond showing off a lot of art and early animation for episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars that were never completed, Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo gave some intriguing hints at Star Wars Celebration about the planned ending they had for the animated series before it was cancelled.

As it turned out, the final episodes of the series would have “coincided with Revenge of the Sith and went past it.” Filoni said the plan was to have episodes that showed where Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex (the Clone Wars characters fans had the biggest questions about regarding Episode III) were during pivotal events like the Battle of Coruscant and Order 66, before wrapping up with some episodes that took place in the wake of Episode III.
